We are a family owned and operated company, doing business locally for over 36 years in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Central New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Capital Scrap Metals, Inc. is the largest scrap metal recycler in Northern New Mexico. We also provide waste & trash disposal and towing services.

Capital Scrap Metals, Inc. got its start in the scrap metal recycling business back in 1977 when Robert Witt and his wife Clara started a small recycling center out of their home in Santa Fe. Then in 1986 Capital Scrap Metals moved to its present location at 1162 Cooks Lane in the heart of Santa Fe.

In 1991 Capital Scrap Metals began selling used auto parts. From 2005 to 2011 Capital Scrap Metals, Inc. expanded in several areas. In 2006 we expanded and opened our Las Vegas, NM recycling center at 702 Railroad Avenue and in 2011 Capital Waste Services was created to provide roll off, weekly trash service, portable restrooms and commercial recycling containers to customers.
